This song by Eh Ska Pay puts me in the Metro. Bustling people all around. Trains rushing to and fro. This is actually the first song I have ever created using Logic Pro X. I have always used Garageband but thought since I am publishing material now, it would be awesome to have the full paid version to make things a little easier.
I had fun reversing and clipping some of the German and Russian vocal loops to somewhat create a gibberish version of what reminded me of the vocals over the speakers you hear in the metro while you are waiting for your train. I also enjoyed adding in the contrast of the Erhu instrument and Pizzicato strings.

The most interesting thing for me about this song is that it was never meant to be created into a song for publishing. I was sitting in the car waiting for my husband to finish a project he was working on, and I decided to pull out my iPad while I waited to help with my boredom. I had never opened up Garageband on my iPad because I thought it would be lame. I have always used my computer's Garageband app for making music and so I thought, attempting to use a tablet for creating music would be a pain without a keyboard and mouse. I was so glad I opened it up though because I started tinkering with it and ended up having a blast.
I forgot about the song I created on there until later I was looking to create a new song for Eh Ska Pay and remembered the song on my iPad. It was so easy to transfer it to my computer and finish the song in Logic Pro X! I just loved the experience. It's a lot of fun to be able to play these digital instruments now with the iPad touchscreen. Instead of just using my computer keyboard to record notes, having something somewhat similar to a fretboard for a guitar or a mini drum kit to play with your fingers is so much more exciting.
